This filter can be used above-ground or partially buried in the ground up to the filter inlet fitting.

How does it work? As the pond water enters the UltraKlean filter, it is forced into a cyclone action and through a special density foam filter. The large foam surface provides increased filtration and bacteria growth. Because the water is pressurized, the foam is able to fill with more beneficial bacteria without becoming blocked. Clean water then moves down the outside of the foam filter into the biomedia at the bottom of the filter container where more beneficial bacteria clean the pollutants out of the water.

To ensure maximum circulation through the filter, it is best to keep the hose short and the pumping height to a minimum, especially on the discharge side of the filter.
